Everyone knows that shopping is one of the most popular past times in Second Life. The world of fashion is huge, and there are countless blogs, websites and inworld magazines dedicated to reviewing the latest trends, blogging about new releases, and sharing tips on where to get all the free goodies.

When I first bought my home with Keeme Brown in Second Life, I started searching the grid from top to bottom, trying to find the absolute best in furniture, accents and home decor. Now and then I would stumble across some free items. Sometimes plants, sometimes rugs or a candle. I thought that with all the fashion related blogs, there surely had to be some that were dedicated to home ownership in SL. I found Prim Perfect, which has been a wealth of information and wonderful pictures, tips and ideas. Another valuable resource is Meta Makeover , a home and interior design show that can be found on the slcn.tv cable network.

Inspired by all of the fashion and freebie blogs that follow after Second Style Magazine, I decided to do something similar, that would focus on everything to do with owning a home in Second Life.

Second Homes (Virtual Living) will cover everything from pre-fabs, to garden and plants, to furniture and home accents. I will feature various stores and designers, and be able to mention free gifts that they might offer, new releases, information about their groups or subscribe-o-matics, where to find the best deals.. and most importantly- I’ll be posting lots of pictures so you can quickly find that certain style you might be looking for, for your own home.

Decorating your home in Second Life can be extraordinarily fun, but also quite time consuming. There are hundreds of places to buy furniture and other home related products out there, and finding just that right couch or bed can be like searching for a needle in a haystack. Hopefully, this blog will be a good resource to help you along.
