Tiny Beach Prims

Blogger and podcaster, Radar Masukami has recently joined the ranks of other home and store designers with his new line of pre-fabs. Tiny Beach Prims offers a selection of low prim prefabs for either commercial or residential use. Living up to the name, these designs are ideal for use on small parcels.

The store itself is located in a skybox and platform, high about Podcaster Island. When you TP in, you’ll find vendors with the prefab designs, as well as a couple of other office items, such as a laptop and glass computer desk. Be sure to click on the subscribe-o-matic so you can keep up to date with new product releases and news. Then use the green arrow to teleport up to the demo-rezzer platform.

Tiny Beach Prims is still relatively young, so currently there are only four prefabs available. But I’m sure that Radar will be building some more pretty soon. I’ll go through and cover each of the Tiny Beach series in this article.

First, we have the Sky Office. This one is my favorite because of the seperate rooms, one of which is sunken. This is labeled as an office, but it could also be used as a mid-size shop or even a small home. Since its intended as a skybox, it does not have any doors. You will have to teleport in and out, but that could also double as added security if you prefer to keep it for private use and don’t feel like setting door lock scripts.

The Sky Office has three seperate rooms and a small alcove with a lowered shelf. The dimensions are 49 prims, and a footprint of 24×35.

Next up is one of the smallest of the four. Paradise Cove is not really an office so much as it is an open air hang out spot for the beach, or maybe a small shop. It is very small, but functional. And the nice brick and pebbled stone textures would make it stand out and be noticed. Paradise Cove is only 17 prims, 24×16 footprint.

If I’m not mistaken, Pilot Rock was the first of Radars prefab creations. A friend of mine used this as his beachhouse not long ago, and I always thought it was really cute. Its very small, yet still packs an impressive five rooms into a two level house. Plus a back porch and a wraparound upstairs deck- all for only 48 prims with a 16×15.5 footprint.

This style of house is wonderful if you only have a small parcel, but you don’t want the typical studio or one room house that you often find for this size footprint. The rooms upstairs may be small, but the clever use of different flooring textures gives it more definition and helps to seperate the rooms into their individual spaces.

This brings us to the final prefab. The PI Granite Store is the smallest of the bunch. This 13 prim, 14×14.5 shop is just right for someone who might just be starting up a business, and may not need a very large space just yet. Its very affordable at only $150L, so this is a good option for a new business owner.

I’m looking forward to seeing what else Radar will come up with. There were some blank panels on his demo rezzer platform, so I have a feeling he has some other designs in the works. Again, don’t forget to join the subscribe-o-matic. And there is also a Tiny Beach Prims blog that has a lot more product pictures, and even a video that I highly recommend.
