Bastian’s Home Store
For the better part of this afternoon and evening, I’ve been roaming around the grid. Visiting various stores and searching for inspiration to write about, tonight. I didn’t think I was going to get a chance to post an article this evening, but one of the last stops of the night turned out to be a pleasant surprise.
Sabastian Klein of Bastian’s Home Store invited me to visit his store when he heard about Second Homes, so I came over to take a look. I’ve been on the search lately for some good quality rugs for my home, and as it turns out, the collection at Bastian is the largest I’ve seen in Second Life so far. I am truely impressed by his collection of rugs and wall art, and time slipped away as I spent the better part of the last hour wandering up and down the aisles, and through the different sections.

The prices are very reasonable, as well. Most rugs and wall art that I’ve seen at Bastian’s runs between $40L-$60L, but the vast majority are marked at $40L. I didn’t see very many at all that were higher than that. And naturally, they are mod so you can resize them to fit your needs.
In addition to rugs and wall art, there is also a small selection of plants, pillows and furniture. Some of the furniture is even low prim. Not all of it, mind you. (Some of the couches and chairs run between 18-27 prims.) But if look around, you will find lots of one and two prim accessories and appliances.

Most of the hutches, bookcases and even the decorative screens are only one prim. This translucent, modern glass screen for instance, is only 1 prim at $99L. Most decorative screens I’ve seen use individual, linked prims for each panel.

Tucked away in a corner on the second floor, you will find an assortment of kitchen appliances and furniture. The fridges and washing machines are all 1 prim each, and only $25L. And there are two really cute kitchen sets that are six and ten prims each for around $200L, which really isn’t bad. Especially for the low prims. I’m also excited because there are some pretty kitchen wall tiles. They are meant to be used as a backsplash, but I’ve been looking for something similar as artwork to dress up my kitchen. The tile texture is gorgeous, and will be just perfect.

Bastian Home Store does have a group available for updates. Just look for it in Search, or IM Sabastian Klein if you have any questions. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have some rugs and wall tile to buy.

I think I remember seeing the “mural” type tile (cannisters) in a house when I was growing up. Now if you can find me the mirrors mural of the bullfighter I have here at Casa De Keeme (pic to follow) I will ask for your prim in marriage! Wait… I already did that… Prim baby? I did not think so. Great article, brought back some much needed memories. Keeme Dreamscape

Hi Carla,
If you click on the slurl at the bottom of the post, just go inside the store and you should find the screen when you look around. Then just right click and select, ‘buy’.
